FRIDAY
After early morning pick ups and a Euortunnel crossing to France we continue to METZ for our overnight stop at the HOLIDAY INN METZ TECHNOPOLE*** with dinner included.
SATURDAY
We continue our journey through France and Germany before arriving at the HOTEL WITTELSBACH*** in the CENTRE OF OBERAMMERGAU, our base for the next two nights on a full board basis.
SUNDAY
This morning is at leisure in OBERAMMERGAU, during which time you may choose to visit the OBERAMMERGAU MUSEUM, the price of which is included in this tour. After lunch, take your place (in CATEGORY 1 SEATS) at one of the world's most outstanding cultural events, the OBERAMMERGAU PASSION PLAY. Only held once every ten years, the PASSION PLAY is held in a large purpose built open air theatre (the auditorium is covered but the stage is not) against the stunning back drop of the BAVARIAN ALPS. The rows of seating are tiered and therefore offer everyone a good view of the stage, and performances take place irrespective of the weather. The PASSION PLAY commences at 2.30p.m. and dinner will be served during the three hour interval (5.00p.m. - 8.00p.m.). The play finishes at 10.30p.m. Also included is the SHUTTLE SERVICE within OBERAMMERGAU and a PROGRAMME BOOK.
MONDAY
We leave OBERAMMERGAU today and travel to the BLACK FOREST, famous for its forests, valleys, rivers, little cities, and cuckoo clocks. Our first stop will be in HOHENSCHWANGAU, where you may choose to visit NEUSCHWANSTEIN CASTLE (used for filming Chitty Chitty Bang Bang). We continue to FRIEDRICHSHAFEN on the shore of the BODENSEE before continuing to HOTEL PALMENGARTEN****, OFFENBURG our base for the next three nights on a half board basis.
TUESDAY
A more relaxing start today with free time in OFFENBURG before we enjoy a circular tour through the beautiful BLACK FOREST. Our lunch stop will be in FREUDENSTADT, with our return journey taking us through SCHRAMBERG and on to DOROTHEENHUTTE, WOLFACH where you can visit the glass museum, visit Glass Paradise (the glass shop), the Christmas shop and then relax over a cup of tea!
WEDNESDAY
Another scenic drive today takes us through HORNBERG to our coffee stop where you will have the opportunity to learn more about CUCKOO CLOCKS and possibly even purchase one to bring home! Our lunch stop will be at DONAUESCHINGEN, to see where the RIVER DANUBE rises before we continue to TITISEE, with its waterfront promenade on the crystal-clear waters of TITISEE LAKE considered the loveliest street for strolling in the Southern Black Forest).
THURSDAY
Today we have an extended lunch stop in HEIDELBERG with its old town, beautiful churches, squares, the Old Bridge and the stunning HEIDELBERG CASTLE before we continue to our overnight stop at the HOLIDAY INN METZ TECHNOPOLE*** on a half board basis.
FRIDAY
Our lunch stop today is in REIMS, famous for it's Champagne, and home to four World Heritage Sites which include the stunning NOTRE DAME CATHEDRAL. We complete our holiday today as we return back to England via the Eurotunnel to our local drop off points.
Includes half board accommodation with en suite facilities, lunch in Oberammergau, Category 1 seat at The Passion Play, Passion Play Programme Book, shuttle bus service within Oberammergau, all admissions, local taxes, return luxury coach travel, & the services of an experienced tour manager.
